Vaccination Infant Supplementation Study

Do you have an infant 4-24 months old?

Is your infant scheduled to have routine vaccination?

Starting in February 2019, NIIM is seeking participants for a 2-month randomised placebo-controlled study examining the effect of supplementation of vitamin D and probiotics around vaccination on the infant’s sleeping pattern, growth, and ear temperature.

Participation involves:

  • Attendance of 3 appointments at NIIM Clinic 4-weekly over 2 months.
  • Appointments will take approximately 45 minutes.
  • Testing will include growth and weight measurements, questionnaires, and ear temperature measurements.
  • You will be given diaries to record daily infant’s temperature, sleep and cry pattern, and the quality of the main carer’s sleep.

Appointments will be at the NIIM Clinic (level 1, 21 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn, VIC 3122).

This study has been approved by an NHMRC registered ethics committee, and is registered on the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry.
