Arterial stiffness is a cardiovascular risk factor, which increases naturally with age. Kyolic garlic has been shown to improve the flexibility of arteries, and slows down blood flow, which may improve oxygen uptake, associated with aerobic fitness.

Professor Avni Sali AM is recognised as the father of Integrative Medicine in Australia. He founded the Graduate School of Integrative Medicine at Swinburne University in 1996 and established the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM) in 2009.

Adem is currently the Executive Chairman of ASX-listed Top Shelf International Holdings Ltd. He is also the Chairman and founder of ANGL Korp, his investment vehicle for both ventures and investments.
Adem also Chairs the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM) and the 2030 Greater Victoria Commonwealth Games Taskforce. Additionally, Adem is a Non-Executive Director (previously Chairman) of newly ASX-listed The Hydration Pharmaceuticals Company Limited, which owns the Hydralyte brand outside of Australia and New Zealand. He also sits on the investment committee for the private equity firm Corner Capital.
Prior to that Adem spent seven years establishing Swisse Wellness before its sale to H&H Group Ltd (previously Biostime) for nearly US$1.7 billion in 2015. Adem held senior positions of CFO, COO and MD at Swisse Wellness. Adem is a CPA, having obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting). Adem resides in Melbourne.
Professor Avni Sali AM, often referred to as the father of Integrative Medicine in Australia, brings to NIIM his immeasurable medical expertise and passion for the advancement of Integrative Medicine. As former president of the Gawler Foundation and the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA), and current president of the International Council of Integrative Medicine, he has extensive experience with the management of committees and organisations campaigning for education research, and the clinical use of Integrative Medicine.

Radek Sali is an accomplished leader of international business, having made his mark as CEO of household name Swisse in his early thirties. Radek is credited to have led Swisse through rapid growth in product lines, stockists and revenue, and initiated one of Australia’s largest ever licencing deals with PGT, with plans to launch Swisse in over 30 countries in 3 years across Europe and Asia.
Swisse is an Australia’s leading wellness brand that prides itself on delivering premium quality natural health and wellbeing products. Radek led the brand to successfully expand from VHMS into a skin care, super foods and performance nutrition range of products. He also successfully drove the brand to be the number 1 health product for on line sales in China. In 2015/16, Swisse sold for over $1.7bil, one of the largest private transactions in Australia’s corporate history. He credits building an extraordinary culture as the foundation of his success.
Swisse’s market-leading position and success was recognised in 2012 when Radek led Swisse to be named the ‘Most Successful Business of the Year’ in the prestigious 2012 BRW Private Business Awards. Radek was also recognised as the GQ Businessman of the Year and the CEO Magazine’s Pharmaceutical Executive of the Year in 2012, these accolades were in addition to a number of health industry awards presented to Swisse in the same year. Swisse was named in the top 25 best places to work in 2015 and 2016. Radek was named as a national winner for his industry in 2016 for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Radek is the Executive Chairman of Light Warrior Group, a principle driven investment group focused on the potential of business to have a positive impact on the world by creating value for all stakeholders; customers, employees, suppliers, investors, society and the environment. Radek has also founded the Lightfolk Foundation, which has been established to support initiatives with the intent of advancing humankind. It is through this foundation that Lightfolk Ltd has been established, a not-for-profit school of wisdom of which Radek is Chairman. Radek is Honorary Alumni at La Trobe University and an Advisory Board Member for the National Institute of Integrative Medicine.
Sener Besim is a retail and brand specialist within the Australian Luxury retail landscape across all areas of management, marketing and retail. Sener has over 17 years’ experience as General Manager of one of Australia’s leading Fashion Brands and oversaw several periods of acute growth. Sener also is Founder and Creative Director of Internationally acclaimed Jewellery and Eyewear brand SENER BESIM.
Dr. John Walters has over 35 years of experience in integrative medicine, combining conventional and holistic approaches. After graduating from the University of Melbourne, he established general practice clinics in Melbourne and rural Queensland. His 20 years in rural practice included obstetrics, surgery, allergy management, nutritional and lifestyle medicine, and skin cancer treatment, fuelled by dermatology training in the UK.
Dr. Walters now focuses on dermatology, skin cancer surgery, nutritional medicine, allergy management, chemical sensitivities, thyroid, autoimmune conditions, and preventative care at NIIM. A founding member and Fellow of the Australian Society of Environmental Medicine, he has lectured at the University of Queensland and supervised medical students at the University of Melbourne. Committed to personalised care, Dr. Walters emphasises patient education to empower healing and long-term wellness. He is also an active researcher in evolving integrative medical practices.
Christopher has over thirty years of experience as a c-Suite executive having overseen the development and growth of multiple small, medium and large organisations. In addition to his role as CEO of NIIM, Christopher is an Executive Director of the ADHD Foundation and a Non-Executive Director of Disability Advocacy Network Australia Ltd (DANA).
Christopher has consulted to organisations on leadership, culture, risk management and performance improvement and has run wellbeing and psychological support services organisations which included suicide prevention. He sat on the board of an NDIS service provider and worked for The Drug Detection Agency specialising in the identification and mitigation of substance abuse risk. In addition to his private and ASX listed company executive roles, Christopher formerly held a seat on the United Nations Association of Australia Environment & Sustainability Committee and was guest lecturer to the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMITU) for master’s students.
Christopher is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Member of the CEO Institute and he graduated with a Master of Commerce, MBA and Pathology qualification.
Christopher is a strong advocate for Integrative Medicine and strongly supports the work of the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM). Christopher has a passion for evidence based medical research, education and medical best practice leading to optimised health outcomes via an integrative approach.
