Sleep

Sleep disorders include a wide range of conditions that affect an individual’s ability to obtain sufficient and restorative sleep. These include disruptive sleep, insomnia, sleep apnoea and restless leg syndrome. Poor sleep quality can be caused by numerous factors, including stress, anxiety, medication side effects, or other health conditions.

Integrative medicine can be an effective approach to managing sleep disorders. This type of medicine combines conventional Western medical practices with complementary therapies to provide a holistic approach to health and wellness. For sleep disorders, integrative medicine can help individuals identify and address underlying causes of their sleep disorders, such as hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies or stress, which may improve sleep quality and promote optimal health. It may also include therapies such as vitamin supplements, mindfulness meditation and cognitive-behavioural therapy.
